Hi, I'm Sandra!

I didn't grow up baking bread. For years, "from scratch" felt overwhelming, I needed a recipe and I followed it to the letter. That changed when my Costa Rican mother-in-law showed me something different: how to feed your family with what you have, without pressure, without perfection, just deep love and simple hands.

When I discovered sourdough, I ran into the same wall most beginners hit, too many voices, too many steps, too much noise. So I did what I always do. I stripped it back to what actually matters, applied the base principles, and built a method that works for real life, raising a family, running a home, owning a cottage bakery. No rigid schedules. No heavy equipment. No babysitting dough.

Do I need to already know how to bake bread?

No. BBW starts with Baking Essentials and Sourdough Foundations - building your understanding from the ground up. Every module is designed to be approachable for beginners.

Where do I start when I join?

Sandra recommends Soft Sandwich & Everyday Breads or Artisan Sourdough Breads — the two modules that build confidence fastest. You'll also be guided by the current 6-week focus cycle so you always know what the community is working on. You are not behind.

How do the weekly calls work?

Two live Zoom calls per week, 60 minutes each. One cohort call focused on the current module. One open Q&A — bring your dough, your questions, anything. Both are recorded for members who can't attend live.

What if I fall behind in the module?

Everything inside BBW is self-paced. The 6-week cycles give you structure, but you move at your own speed and can revisit any module anytime.

Can I cancel at anytime?

Monthly members can cancel anytime. Annual members receive full access for the entire year.

Is there GF content?

Yes. There is a module dedicated entirely to Gluten-Free Sourdough Bread - flour types, ingredient combinations, and a proven GF recipe.

Do I need special equipment or tools?

No. A bowl, a jar, a baking sheet, and your oven. "Do what you can with what you have where you are!" That is the whole Bread & Butter Way philosophy. In baking essentials we discuss types of equipment that would be helpful, but it is not required.
